Free Legal Advice

Romaine Scally and Co Solicitors are delighted to announce a new service which will be of particular interest to all those of us who are affected by the recession.  Romaine Scally and Co Solicitors are devoting a full afternoon and early evening to a free legal advice clinic, to be hosted on the second Wednesday in every month (bar August), at their offices at Main Street, Tallaght, Dublin 24 which commenced on February 8 and was a resounding success. NO APPOINTMENTS ARE BEING GIVEN so all interested parties should take note of the times and come early.  The time is from 2 pm until 7 pm.

Many readers of our legal advice column  Will already be aware of the existence of this clinic.  It was set up as a result of an increasing need for legal advice for people who find that they can no longer afford a consultation with a solicitor.  There are many challenges facing huge numbers of people in these very difficult times with problems ranging from negative equity, mortgage arrears, and employment problems to name a few.

Romaine Scally solicitor, who has headed up this initiative became acutely aware of the urgent need for people to be able to get advice without adding to the strain of already strained family finances. To fill this gap, the offices of Romaine Scally and Co Solicitors and all their staff are giving their time free of charge to callers during these hours.  It has already proved to be a great success and although Romaine and her team cannot take on all the cases, nonetheless they can give clear positive advice on how to tackle and deal with a problem  and how best to resolve it or sort it with a simple meeting or phone call.  'What has surprised me', says Romaine, 'is the number of people who become overwhelmed by a problem only to discover, when they discuss it with me that it is not such a big problem after all.  We can all become 'blinkered by fear', and to avoid a problem is the worst thing of all to do'.  Tackling a problem is empowering and good for the mind and that in turn helps to restore a sense of well being and confidence..  If we can do our bit to assist people dealing with the problems caused by a faltering economy, then we feel that we have helped to give back something to a community who have been good to us over 3 decades.

Its time to look out for each other and help each other to get through these tough times.
